FAQs

1. How old are your students?

We have 2 different programs: (1) Preschool and (2) K-6 program. Basic Steps accepts 3-5 year-old children who are ready to learn in a classroom setting. If your child is under 3 years old (but must be at least 2.5 years old) may try our free classes to see if she/he is ready to go to school.

Elementary school children who are 6 to 11 years old can register for our summer tutoring sessions and fun classes.

2. Who can register for your free classes?

New preschool students who have never registered or tried our program can sign up for a total of 4 free classes (45 minutes each). Parents may not combine any other offers.

3. Your classes for the quarter has started. Can I still register my child into your program?

Yes. We will prorate your tuition. You can register at anytime and we will confirm whether the classes you registered are available or not through email. Feel free to call or text us as well to check availability: 206-422-7423.

4. How much will it cost?

The tuition for each student will vary depending on how many classes per week you will register. Please take a look at our calendar to find out how many weeks we have per quarter (usually 12 weeks for winter, 12 weeks for spring, 10 weeks for summer, and 16 weeks for fall). Let’s say you are only interested in 4 classes per week x $6 per class = $24 per week x 12 weeks (from Jan-Mar) = $288 for 3 months. There will be $55 annual registration fee per student.

5. Does my schedule have to be the same every week?

Yes. Once you registered the classes, you must keep the same schedule every week. However, parents can change their children’s schedule any time as long as the classes have open spots. Parents who wish to drop classes must provide two-week written notice.

6. Do you have a waiting list?

Yes. Classes between 9:30am to 1:30pm fill up quickly. Our current students are automatically enrolled in the following quarter and they get to select their classes first before we release spots out to new students each quarter. If you are interested in our program, we encourage parents to plan in advance and register early. Please call or email us for more information.

7. My child got sick and he missed 2 days of classes. Can he make up the missed classes?

Yes. We charge $5 fee to schedule one make-up day. Parents have until the end of the quarter to schedule make-up days. Spaces are limited. Please arrange that with the program director.

8. What is your policy if we would like to re-enter your program?

Parents must pay $15 fee to re-enter our preschool program or $55 if the annual registration fee is due.

9. I’m interested in your program. What should I do first?

Please register here and let us know when you would like to come and have your child try our free classes. After the free classes, we will let you know whether your child is ready to learn in a classroom setting.

10. I still have questions. How can I reach you?
