Preschool (PreK) Program (3-5 years old)

  • $100 annual registration fee is required or $50 registration fee for summer only.
  • $8 per 45-min session (must pay in full or in 2 separate payments by the scheduled deadlines)
  • Parents can register for as few as one session per week or as many as 20 sessions per week.  Your tuition will vary depending on how many classes/days you wish to enroll your child in. For example, if you are only interested in registering for 4 sessions per week (each session is 45min, about 3hrs/week), then your child’s tuition for the quarter will be = 4 sessions x $8 per session = $32 per week x 12 weeks (depending on how many weeks are left in the quarter) = $384.
 

Other Important Information:

  1. During the school year from September to June, parents can only register for a maximum of 4 preschool sessions per day.
  2. For our 8-week summer (seasonal) literacy camp, parents can register 5 or more sessions per day.
  3. Preschool (PreK) lunch break is not charged during the school year; however, lunch break during summer quarter will be charged as one session.
 

  • Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program = $8 x 5 sessions/per day = $40/day (minimum 2 days/week = $80/week) (from 8:30am to 1pm) (Annual Registration Fee: $100 includes IXL account)
  • Online / Virtual Classroom Learning Program (During School Year 2nd to 10th GRADE) = $5 per session (Mon-Thurs 4pm to 5pm / 5pm to 6pm; Sunday 9-10am / 10-11am) (Annual Registration Fee: $100 includes IXL account)
  • Online/ Virtual Summer Program (2nd to 10th GRADE) = $15 (9am to 12pm) Morning Session or $10 (1pm to 3pm) Afternoon Session (Seattle/Pacific Time Zone) (Summer Registration Fee: $50 includes IXL account / Students who already paid the $100 annual registration fee will NOT need to pay summer $50 registration fee)
 

 

PreK Summer Literacy Camp (3-5 years old)

  • $50 summer registration fee is required
  • $10 per 45-min class (2024 fees)
  • $42 for 5 sessions/day = $8.40 per class
  • $48 for 6 sessions/day = $8 per class
  • $53 for 7 sessions/day = $7.57 per class
  • $58 for 8 sessions/day = $7.25 per class
  • $63 for 9 sessions/day = $7 per class
 

 

 Elementary, Middle, and High School Summer Literacy Camp (5.5-15 years old)

$50 summer registration fee (10% discount is available to parents who register by the deadline)

  • $30 for 2 sessions ($15/class)
  • $40 for 3 sessions ($13.34/class)
  • $50 for 4 sessions ($12.50/class)
  • $60 for 5 sessions ($12/class)
  • $70 for 6 sessions ($11.67/class)
  • $80 for 7 sessions ($11.43/class)
  • $85 for 8 sessions ($10.63/class)
  • $90 for 9 sessions ($10/class)
 

POLICIES for BASIC STEPS Programs
 

*Tuition must be paid at least 3 weeks in advance or by the deadline to ensure a spot is reserved for your child. Parents can pay in either one full payment or two separate payments every quarter. Special arrangements can be made. Please discuss it with the program director.

*Students must pay a $100 annual registration fee for our year-long program. For summer program only, students must pay a $50 registration fee. Only cash, checks, or electronic transfer through Zelle will be accepted. Registration fee is non-refundable. 

*With a $50 deposit, parents will be able to reserve a spot for their child for the summer and fall quarter. Enrollment for summer quarter starts in mid-March and enrollment for fall quarter starts in mid-April. Please check our school calendar/deadlines for updated information. We do not need any deposit to reserve a spot for winter and spring quarter. All deposits are non-refundable.

*To complete enrollment, parents must submit their child’s complete immunization form issued by their doctor’s office.

*Holidays & vacation days will not be charged.  We always prorate or adjust your child’s tuition if there are any vacation planned in advance. Parents must notify us the vacation dates in writing by the assigned deadlines (first payment deadline). Please note that only a maximum of 2 weeks vacation will be deducted from the total tuition. If the child’s  vacation is longer than 14 consecutive days (2 weeks), we will give parents the option to withdraw the child from the program temporarily or make up the classes that were not deducted from the total tuition.

*Missed classes/Making-up classes: No refund or tuition adjustment when your child missed a day of classes due to sickness or any kinds of emergencies. However, you have the option to pay $5 scheduling fee if parents wish to re-schedule one day of missed classes. Make-up days cannot roll over to another quarter. In other words, all make-up days must be scheduled and used before the quarter ends.

*School Closure: There will be no refund or make-ups when we are forced to close due to the weather conditions or any other reasons. Please visit the Kent School District website when there is a bad storm day. If they are closed due to the road condition, we will most likely be closed as well. However, please text the program director to confirm if we’re closed.

*Refund policy: Parents can receive a refund of the remaining unattended PreK classes when a 2-week (14 days) written notice is provided to the program director. All refunds will be issued electronically or with a check. It will take at least 2 weeks to process and issue your refund. For summer quarter, only credits will be issued. Parents may use these credits within one year. Tuition and fees collected for our elementary school program are nonrefundable.

*Re-entering Policy: Parents who wish to place their children back into our program must pay the registration fee of $100 again. Students cannot re-enter to our elementary school         program once withdrawn from the program.

*Late Payment Fee: Half of the PreK must be received at least 3-4 weeks before the quarter ends. The second half is due by the 3rd week of class. If tuition is not received by the deadline, there will be a $20 late payment fee per each deadline. For the elementary program, parents must pay a late fee if payment is not received by the 15th of each month.

*Late Pick Up: To ensure the next session starts on time without interruption, it is necessary to pick up your child on time. There will be a $2 penalty fee for every 5 minutes late.

*We ask that parents drop off their child immediately by the front entrance upon arrival. We do not encourage parents staying by the door too long or trying to get into the facility or class. Classes are intended for children only and they are our first priority. Parents, who are new to our program, can stay with their child for one session to help their child transition into the program and observe how our program is organized.

*Snacks: We require all parents to buy a lunch bag/pail for their children and pack them some snacks and lunch. We also expect that all children bring a spill-proof water bottle or drink to school. If the child does not have food that day, we will be able to offer some juice and dry snacks/cereals.

*Lunch: We will be able to warm up your children’s lunch if necessary. Children must bring their own utensils. Parents also have the option to order meals at the restaurants in the plaza. Our staff will be able to pick it up for your child around 12pm. Please text us what you have ordered for your child by 11:30am.

*Children who are not potty trained may be admitted into the program; however, they must wear pull-up diapers and have extras when they arrive to the center. We also ask all parents to bring a backpack with a set of clean clothes, including underwear and socks.

*Our PreK program is for 3 to 5 year-old children. If your child is under 3 years old, you may bring him/her to our play time or consider enrolling your child for only one class. Please text Mrs. Joa to schedule a playtime at our facility.
